Golf Tournament Recap
Fourth Annual Mallards Scramble Wraps Up at Belleview Golf Club
The River Canard Mallards held our fourth annual scramble tournament yesterday at Belleview Golf Club, and despite wet conditions throughout the day, it turned into our biggest event yet.
Tee times began at 9:28 AM, with a record field of 19 groups and 76 golfers taking part. The weather made things a little tougher, but the course was full, the competition was strong, and the day once again showed how great this event has become for the team and our supporters.
Winning Team Finishes at -10
This year’s winning group was Jake Frank, Josh Pope-Ferguson, Zac Laforet and Bryce Laforet, who battled through the wet conditions and finished with an impressive score of -10.
With the course playing heavy and conditions far from perfect, going that low was no small feat. Their round was steady enough to separate them from the field and earn the title as this year’s scramble champions.
Closest Contests of the Day
One of the wildest moments of the tournament came on Hole 3 during the longest drive competition. Josh Pope-Ferguson and Brett Harrison ended up in a dead tie. We stood at both marks, shot them with the range finder, and they were tied right down to the decimal.
Closest to the pin was won by Devon Major on Hole 16, adding another highlight to a competitive day on the course.
Thank You to Our Sponsor
A huge thank you goes out to our main sponsor, The Cherry Rock Lounge, for supporting this year’s tournament. Events like this help keep the Mallards moving forward, and support from local businesses makes a big difference.
Thank you as well to everyone who played, helped organize, donated, supported, or simply came out to be part of the day. Four years in, this event keeps growing, and this year’s record turnout made it one to remember.
