Coming Off A Historic Year

22-11. C OBA Finalists. Still Hungry.

The River Canard Mallards are coming off their strongest campaign yet, finishing 22-11 and making a run all the way to the C OBA finals. Now, with a deep returning roster, added experience, and another full Essex County Senior League schedule ahead, the goal is simple: build on the standard set last season.

Season 2026

Last season proved that the Mallards could compete with anyone. The group showed depth, resilience, and the kind of lineup balance needed to survive a long summer schedule. The result was a breakthrough year that pushed the club further than ever before.

But 2026 is not about celebrating what already happened. It is about proving that last year was only the beginning.

What To Watch

Storylines Entering 2026

01

A Deeper Roster

River Canard enters the season with a full mix of veteran bats, defensive versatility, and arms capable of eating innings throughout the summer.

02

Big Games Early

The schedule brings immediate tests against familiar Essex County competition, including Essex, Chatham, Leamington, Woodslee, Forest Glade, Windsor, and Tecumseh.

03

Finishing The Job

After reaching the C OBA finals, the Mallards know exactly how close they were. The next step is turning a strong season into a championship season.

League Outlook

Essex County Baseball Is Wide Open.

The Essex County Senior League remains one of the toughest local baseball circuits in the region. Every week brings rivalry games, veteran lineups, young talent, and ballparks where nothing comes easy. For the Mallards, that grind is exactly what makes the season matter.
